Puppy training from 14 Weeks
From the age of 14 weeks you can visit me at my secure training ground where I will customise the training for your puppy and you.
We target lessons to your needs, hobbies and goals.
Once your puppy has the basics in place they will be easier to handle when being socialised into larger groups.
How puppy training works
Our first lessons start with calmness, patience, lead walking and learning the position of heel; and focusing on achieving a solid recall.
To help you to get the hang of training I give demonstrations with my own trained dogs.
I then demonstrate specific techniques with your pup, this helps you to see the correct way and how you puppy responds first.
Once you are feeling confident enough to try, I train you how to how to put into practice all the techniques I have taught you and your dog.
I have lots of experience of dealing with many behaviour problems. So we can work these out in the early stages if they arise.
Following your lesson, I ask you to put your training into practice for 3-4 weeks. Daily practice plays a big part in your puppy’s progression. It embeds the training that we have covered.
If practice has gone well, we will then be ready to build upon your knowledge and advance at your next lesson.
I offer support during practice weeks if you need advice.
After each lesson I email you an individual plan to help you to remember all details that we covered during the lesson. The plan also includes directions on how to achieve the different points.
We also video certain techniques to help you get it right at home. I find this helps owners to relax in the lesson and focus on the here and now.
